So many things to blog about...

... so little time. I'll take a page out of Wendy's book and make a list of things going on in my head. (In no particular order...)

1. It was great to see Rodger and Michelle the week before Christmas. We're glad they were able to come, and glad they had a good time.

2. The carnage after opening gifts for two hours is amazing. I don't understand how everything could fit neatly under the tree the night before, but be like an explosion that took up the entire living room on Christmas morning.

3. Luke went to midnight mass with me this year. Thanks, Luke. It means quite a lot to me. Being Lutheran is hard sometimes when you attend the Church of Christ every Sunday. Singing the Liturgy is a little taste of home.

4. Gram's Swedish meatballs were yummy on Christmas Eve. They got the family stamp of approval. Thanks, Nancy and Gram, for publishing family recipes to keep traditions alive.

5. Luke is finishing Baby B's bed today. Since moving into the big boy beds, he's fallen out several times. We decided that to avoid unpleasant wakings (for both parents and child) we should put some walls around his bed.

6. Luke cannot simply "put walls around a bed." They have to be designed and look cool. Baby B's bed is going to look like Thomas the Tank Engine. He even went to the paint store with a printout of the official picture to match paint colors. Baby A will eventually have a bed that looks like a race car.

7. We were once told that with twins the "terrible twos" weren't quite so terrible. This may have been so for our acquaintance's twins, but for ours being two means having a partner in crime. The boys have reached a point where they can get into much more trouble together than they can on their own, and it drives us to frustration most days. Talk about birth control!

8. On a brighter note, the boys are saying two- and three-word phrases. They're like little minah birds right now, repeating everything we say. We've even had the first official... um... off-color... word. Luckily it didn't mean anything to him and he hasn't latched on to it as a word he likes to say.

9. I haven't sent out our Christmas cards yet. I wrote our letter almost a month ago now, and have had the cards for even longer. I even addressed all the cards on the same day I bought them. How's that for sick and wrong? Still, here they sit, unstamped and unsent. You'll get them... eventually. They might just be Valentine's Day cards this year.

10. Wendy sent us a great care package. We feel truly cared for! Included was the book Julie and Julia. What a wonderful read! I just can't put it down... it's all about how a woman decided to cook every recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Volume 1 in one year. A warning: If you don't care for some coarse language, don't read this. I have to admit, I've laughed so hard I actually snorted milk out my nose. Don't drink and read.

Oh what a fun post. I can't wait to see you in the next couple of months! Remember, there were at least two spots in J&J that made me cry, so get your Kleenex. Mwah!s
